Yeah I really don't get the argument that paying for YouTube premium should hide links that directly support a creator you like.

If anything I'd complain if YouTube hid them as it would be an easy "I got mine" response

Can I do this? Figure we should tag them if we're going to discuss them

Yeah. They're going a bit too hard.

I get wanting to kick-start the community, but we need conversation as well as posts.

edit: oh i misread, it's just one person's links, nobody else can post. No community to kick-start there. I guess it's easy to block.

I always perfer FOSS whenever possible.

I figure if someone out there is working on a project and wants me to use it, I owe it to them to at least give it a shot.

Occasionally, the proprietary stuff is the only option. And occasionally-occasionally that company isn't worth supporting or the price is unreasonable or more than I could afford. In which case, perhaps some seas are sailed.

I was doing the same thing, but it’s a whole new world out there because of Proton.

Yep. I've been on linux for 20 years now, and haven't done much PC gaming for that reason, buying consoles instead. A bit of KSP and C:S and other native Linux games, but that's about it.

Recently got a steamdeck and was like holy shit, almost everything works well now without tweaks.

Went out and bought a GPU for my desktop last week. I'm ready for this era.

doesn’t scale in any way so viewing it on any monitor than that of the person who made it is an absolute pain

Have you tried ctrl + mousewheel?

Both sites scale for me that way, though I also find them usable as-is.

(ctrl+0 to reset zoom by the way)

At least Skyblivion is getting closer. 2024 or 2025.

It's not official, but I never played Oblivion, so I have high hopes for experiencing it re-imagined in a modernish engine.

Not surprising, I guess.

I really don't see how they'll manage to successfully commercialize it. Especially with strong competitors like Jellyfin that don't push intermediary servers or low quality content that many do not want.

Three strikes and then... ip ban? what?

Not surprising though, youtube is terrible without premium or an ad blocker.

And in both cases sponsorblock is needed, but youtube doesn't care about that part.

Personal experience was that intermittent fasting was easier on hunger but harder to make work in a family or with other social settings.

Agreed. It's both hard to schedule social meals into a fasting schedule, and also difficult to explain.

Some people get really concerned at the idea that one might skip meals, and view it as disordered eating.
