Well hello there

It can be, when it isn't hamstrug by stupid regulations.

In the US the government tends toward being ineffective because it typically isn't allowed to do much on its own. For almost everything it hires contractors to execute a function and then serves as oversight for the contractor. The only real exceptions I can think of to this outside of the military are the postal service, the forest service, and the FAA. All of which are pretty notably effective considering the depth and breadth of the service they provide, and provide high quality, long term employment.

Bro just use your phone. If it's android, use AIReader. Free, incredibly configurable, can read every type of book file. Dark mode, adjustable brightness for reading before bed. It gets so dark that I can't even read the minimum setting in a pitch black room. Best e-reader app I've ever found and I've been using it for probably 10 years now.

Who could have ever foreseen the problem of having enormous critical parts with sub millimeter tolerances manufactured in three different countries so that everyone could have warm fuzzy feelings about having "participated"?

Don't get me wrong, I love ITER and everything it stands for, and I hope that it is completed and successful. Anyone could (and should) have seen this issue coming from miles away.

This. My phone camera takes ultra high resolution pictures then algorithmically processes them. They look more beautiful and real than reality.

Do acid, it's cheap as fuck, lasts 12 hours, is generally a great time, and will allow introspection about your life

Any tips for eliminating the stutter, or increasing the smoothness of the emulation? I've got an i7-12700k, 4090, and 64GB of ram and it seems to struggle a bit.

Exactly, there's a whole bunch of "winter" cowboys in Montana and Wyoming, lol

I could see like...a row of purple accent tiles in a backsplash. But fuck.

The thought of having literally every tool conceivable immediately available without having to move is fantastic.

I'm in love with the concept of laying under my car, while also being able to get any particular tool in my hand, without ever having to get up, or having a little pile of sockets, wrenches, and bolts next to me that I have to navigate by feel.

My wife has an iPad and one of the things I hate the most is that you can't install adblock extensions into Firefox on it like you can on Android. Which is a thing that has made using the browser on the phone wayyyy more enjoyable.
