The real question then is what alternatives do we have. We can't continue to use fossil fuels, Purely electric cars aren't at GP distance yet (and throw up a lot of questions about the materials used in batteries anyway) and Hydrogen also requires a large amount of energy to harness, then were not left with many options. We absolutely need to increase our renewable energy usage, which is the first problem in a lot of cases.

I guess I'm just philosophically objected to dictatorship in that way. I completely agree that I don't want random genocide denying loonies filling the comments section, I just don't think it's much effort to ask people. I also imagine a lot of people here are attracted to this instance because it's supposed to be less complicated than other instances where there's a lot of moderation about what can and cannot be seen by users. So when it comes to banning whole communites (which in this case I think is completely justified) there should be caution and discussion.

I am in no way opposed to Lemmygrad being blocked, it's not really the kind of content that I want to see.

But, I do understand how one of the main attractions of sh.itjust.works is supposed to be that it just works, regardless of what you may want to post about, and that blocking communities isn't very conductive to that. I think the answer here should be democracy, doing a poll on such things isn't a hard thing to do, I think most of us would have been fine with the block.

you CAN do it with any F-XLR to 1/4 Jack cable, but realistically it's going to sound pretty crap. Guitar amps are designed to sound good with guitars, not replicate the human voice. The same reason a guitar through a PA with no speaker simulator tends to sound horrible. A little portable PA system or an amp that's designed to be used like that (Roland Street Cubes are ideal) aren't that much more expensive and will give you much better results. For a good, inexpensive vocal mic, I really like the sE V7.

Honestly I'm beginning to LIKE that they're smaller. The F1 sub over on Reddit was at something silly like 3m subs, and they had to start making all sorts of silly rules about what you could and couldn't post, and you just couldn't have a reasonable chat about anything. Smaller communities mean you get to know the users and everything is a bit more casual and chilled.

I quite liked the NU-X MG30. A decent editor, can upload IRs in to it which makes it sound a hell of a lot better. The Space Echo algorithm in it is genuinely good. Wahs are iffy but no worse than any of the others. Has an Effects loop, decent amps and easily gigable.

Mooer GE200 is solid as well but I haven't spent as much time with it to know it's specs of the top of my head.

Personally, I think I'd save up and go for an HX Stomp, even if I had to go second hand. The Line 6 models are a level above anything else you'll get under $1k, the community is great and the build quality is a lot better than the others as well.
