Honestly, the old app logo was better. This doesn't look professional.

I use metric for all distances, and celcius for all temperatures... except my oven, but if i could change that to C, I would.

RIF had this great feature in comment threads that when you selected an individual comment, it would show some buttons for Root/Parent Next/Previous. Made navigating through longer comment threads a breeze. Would love to see if that could be implemented in Connect.

Nice post, but can we get back to talking about Rampart?

Think I may just leave the subs I moderate down for longer, then.

Was the CD drive stock to these? Early 90s seems early to have them. Must have been expensive!

That makes way more sense!

The only roadblock I see is how difficult it is to follow communities outside your main instance. It would be nice if there was a log-in-as option so you can easily subscribe if you come across a page that isn't a part of your instance. Right now you have to either search it on your main, or copy the url over (which I've seen doesn't work all the time, but could be because of server load.)

I've noticed the site failing to load pages, or just generally slow.

Edit: For example, this reply took a fairly long time to submit.

Are usernames single-use across all instances, or is it unique just to the one you signed up with?

T9 texting without looking at your phone is a lost art.

No, that was scrapped during the original debate.

However, Coun. Steve Lehman said he sees the surface lot issue as more nuanced. An owner of a downtown clothing store with its own on-site parking, Lehman said he often hears from businesses who say a lack of downtown parking is keeping new businesses away.

"The Number One barrier preventing companies from moving their businesses downtown is parking and a lack of it," said Lehman.

This isn't accurate at all. Parking spaces will just be taken up by those working downtown and then you're in the same spot. Not enough parking for people who actually want to shop. What needs to happen is more foot traffic. Make it easy for people to walk and be downtown without having to rely on a vehicle.

Take the Queen Street Mall in Brisbane for example. At it's core is a central hub for bus transfers. There is no parking in the immediate area, and it drives a whole tonne of foot traffic. That place is busy and there is always something going on.

People bring business. Cars don't.

Question: Why are multiple communities allowed with the same name? Won't that create too much confusion? beehaw.org/c/community is different than lemmy.ml/c/community. Wouldn't it be better that all subs go to a single instance, no matter what the TLD is?
