My bad, i created 6 user accounts until i figured out how this thing works.

Pros:

• my friends join
• larger community = more content
• meta funding would likely contribute to fediverse growth and improvements
• any instance can defederate them from said instance, which would mitigate almost every con

Cons:

• Meta is evil and wants all your information to profile you and sell to other companies for profit

Me too. We are losing support in August this year. I'm likely getting a 6a then which will be supported until July 2027.

Mastadon is filled with bots that copy tweets from Twitter. They've been doing it for years, yet still have not gained traction. I think we can copy the style, but not the content. Post it as your own, make it original. I don't think Lemmy will continue it's momentum if it tries to be pseudo-reddit, or reddit 2.0. People will just stay/go back to reddit.

Just gonna chime in and agree with this guy. Syncthing is great! I use it with Android and Windows for my photos and password manager.

I use syncthing on Android with synctrazor on windows to sync my photos between phone and desktop. Then just use default photo viewers on each native system. Backed up on protondrive.
