Unfortunately I’m a rare breed that’s not a fan of the PRX, or really most integrated bracelets. Thanks though

I love the thinking behind this. Good looking watch. What are the dimensions?

[–] WatchOnTheRocks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I feel like I missed the parent comment to this. Which watch are you asking about? Assuming you were asking me haha

No apologies needed! I love the Railmaster but prefer the blue denim version which I think just looks killer!

As I see you'd like to stay below 5k I believe you can't do better than a Black Bay. The BB58/54 would be a killer daily. Also the new BB Heritage in 41 looks awesome on the jubilee bracelet, I am waiting to see if they follow up the burgundy bezel with other color variants (not a big fan of red).

[–] WatchOnTheRocks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Agree on the red. I think a BB54 would be borderline perfect but I’m curious if they will do some other releases with different color ways. I’m not a big fan of the gold on black and based on the last 5 years I expect there to be about 10 more iterations ha!

How about a black Omega Railmaster? Great everyday watch. Works great with straps. Metas accurate. 150 Meters WR. Does not draw attention like a Rolex. Good size.

I’ve tried one on at an AD and felt a touch too big unfortunately. Plus I kinda feel like everyone has one. I do like the the early 2000’s speedy day / dates with the sundials at 12,9, and 6 maybe

One vote for Tudor BB36…the old one! I’m not as much a fan of the newer one, I quite like the “smiley” text on the dial. Reliable and hardy

For a GADA, I look for led than 12mm

[–] WatchOnTheRocks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

For sure! I’m picky in general about lug to lug measurements and thickness. Makes a huge difference in terms of wearability

I wish my existing AT was 36 instead of 39! The 39 I have has sentimental value and not sure I’d be willing to have two of the same watch but otherwise that’s probably THE answer!

Looks beautiful but would def be too big for me unless I dedicate my 2024 to only forearm curls! Thanks though

[–] docfluty@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

SBGX261... works with everything all of the time

[–] MEF_97@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Can get the ceramic black gmt master II for ~$10k nowadays - would be a cool option

[–] Bliptown@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What’s going on with that laco? Its dial looks tropical but I didn’t know they made one. is it just the lighting?

https://www.tudorwatch.com/en/black-bay-ceramic

Here's a link without all the tracking garbage if that annoyed anyone else like it did me.

[–] WatchOnTheRocks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ohhh dang, that looks pretty sweet! Maybe a dumb question but would ceramic be lighter weight than stainless steel?

[–] jdlo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ranger or Explorer would be a great addition.

[–] Kevin_Jim@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Can you please help narrow it down a bit:

  • Budget
  • Casual/Dress/Diver/Field
  • Established brand/Micro-brand
  • Looks: Crazy/Something Different/Plain
[–] BigLadInnit@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wow whats that black chrono?

I picked up the new Seiko Alpinist GMT SPB379 and highly recommend. If you have no use for the gmt, you can save money with the Alpanist sharktooth SPB117.

Monta Atlas is a great microbrand option too.

[–] tbwebs@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

There's a lot of good suggestions here. Maybe a Seiko SARB033. Pretty slick finishing for the price and can be dressed up or down easily.

I love that OP Date. I'd wear that every day if I had it.

Totally agree! I really want to go try one on. Some Longines, including the prior version of this, have lugs that are too long for my wrists but this one seems like it might fit the bill!

[–] Zamboni4201@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sinn 556. Sinn U50.

Tudor Pelagos 39, or the new FXD titanium black dial, or a BB58 black/gilt.

Oris Diver 65 Cal 400.

Grand Seiko SBGA467

IWC Pilot Mark XX, your Laco might get jealous. IWC Ingenieur.

Nomos Tangomat or Ahoi

Omega Railmaster.

Breitling Chronomat GMT (Tudor movement).

Squale 1521 Classic COSC

[–] WatchOnTheRocks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

These are all great options! The Railmaster was on my short list but was leaning towards the denim dial which doesn’t solve this problem ha, would love an IWC but totally agree it might make the Laco obsolete and I have some sentimental value there, a Sinn or the new Pelagos seems maybe perfect though. Have you tried on the Pelagos 39 by any chance?

[–] Zamboni4201@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I have the Pelagos 39. Wonderful watch. The t-fit bracelet is fantastic. It’s also great on an Erika’s Original Marine National strap.

[–] WatchOnTheRocks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Appreciate the feedback! Think I’ll have to go try one on. Definitely curios about the t-fit as I feel like I can never get a perfect fit in a bracelet, hence almost always removing for something else

[–] WatchOnTheRocks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hey thanks! It’s actually my favorite watch. The subtle variation between the waffle pattern on the dial and the circles in the sub-dials + the blued hands just gets me every time! Plus I just like chronographs a lot. Fun way to time my coffee in the morning ha

[–] Schmuf84@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I would say an omega speedmaster on black leather or a nato

[–] WatchOnTheRocks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I tried a speedy pro on years ago and felt it wore just a touch too big and then basically wrote it off. Of course it was on a bracelet as it was at an AD. Do you think they wear smaller on a leather / nato strap?

[–] Low_Map4314@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Explorer could be a simple option

[–] WatchOnTheRocks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I general it’s the easiest, except I like the 1016 so much better (because of the font choice) but I’d feel more comfortable beating up a new one. Ridiculous I know!
