A gaming sub free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.

OK, so I have been playing doom games since the dos days. I remember closing windows 3.1 to then launch doom.

I have played each of the doom games except for doom eternal as my life has become busier. I did not know it was not the switch and am surprised how well it runs. I have completed just the first 2 levels or so and it seems to run without any problems.

The controls are a bit difficult in handheld mode, but the gryo controls are nice when sniping.

When ports like this are made it demonstrates two things.

  1. It is possible to optimize a game to run on lower end hardware. You really do not need 16gb of gpu ram to play a game if it is optimized or if lower graphical settings are offered. if Doom Eternal can work on the switch, then just about any game can if it is optimized and ported properly.

  2. Graphics are nice, but they do not really matter that much. While playing, I never see myself wishing the graphics were better. It is just a run game with great music. I have never been a person to chase graphics and I do appreciate them in videos or shots. But when I am playing a game, I do not think I really notice high vs low quality for the most part. I am too immersed in the game to really think about it. Also in this game in particular, I am really way too busy running away from the brute type demon and the spiders.
