A couple great 2D indie games I’d recommend are carrion (if you’re into horror movies) and katana zero. Most Halo campaigns as well as gears of war are pretty short.
I also absolutely appreciate shorter games. I’m in the same boat where my time is limited, I’ve recently gotten into games that are pick up and play, have short segments, and save often. From that perspective, Spider-Man remastered is perfect, and it’s kid friendly enough that I can play occasionally with my kids in the room.
If you like tactics games I recommend Wintermoor Tactics Club. Its funny and sweet and fits nicely in that time frame
I beat Myst in 19 hours of continuous game play without a guide or the internet. Best? Well, if you intend to beat it, it’ll take a lot of thinking through stories.
I haven't played Myst since the 90s! Such a great game.
Resident Evil Village is really, really good. I think I put 15 hours into it total?
Checkout Somerville. It has its quirks, but I loved it overall. If you’re familiar with the game Out of This World (often referred to as Another World and vice versa), you’ll probably dig it.
Another one I recommend is Planet of Lana. Lovely little story and easy gameplay. This one really grabbed me and was an enjoyable, short playthrough.
I went through a similar period. Played a handful of easy-to-pick-up short adventure games.
I'm going through Narita Boy right now. So far it's been pretty good, feels short, and easy to pick and and play for a bit. Only downside is the intro logos can't be skipped.
