Yeeees I'm a huge Max Payne fan. The first game (and its vibrant mod scene) was a defining gaming experience. The amazing for the time technology, the voice acting, the over-the-top noir writing... Remedy has made a lot of good games since but Max Payne 1 is still especially memorable.

The truth was a burning green crack through my brain. Weapon statistics hanging in the air, glimpsed out of the corner of my eye. Endless repetition of the act of shooting, time slowing down to show off my moves. The paranoid feel of someone controlling my every step. I was in a computer game. Funny as hell, it was the most horrible thing I could think of.

Love this series. I still remember playing this game until 3am with my best friend coming up with cheesy dialogue to mimic the game's, laughing our asses off. Over 20 years later, I still remember my favorite:

They were suicide killers. I was balls to the wall. It was a deadly concoction... But one I was willing to drink.

I've only played the most recent one but had a lot of fun with it. Plan on playing the originals sometime. Did you play the El Paso, Elsewhere demo? It's an occult homage to Max Payne.

Is it time to play through Max Payne again? Has the game recieved love from the modding community? I'll answer my own question by saying looky looky...
