DTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!! After half a year the car search has ended, I have finally replaced my 4x4 that shit itself during covid. Ya boy is about to make up for years worth of missed camping and road-tripping.

Just went down a travelator behind a man who had jammed the trolley hard against the side of the travelator side, and it was making this horrid scraping noise as it was going , scraping a dent/scratch into the side of escalator. Man either totally unaware or could not give a fuck. I was thinking how sad it is how much the public just trash stuff and how much it must cost to be constantly fixing things, no wonder everything is expensive. This is why we can’t have nice things.

Allergies are calming down a bit today, the wind and rain has got rid of some of the pollen particles. This has been my worst year for rosacea for 15 years. Big hugs to everyone who is having difficulties with allergies and inflammation.

Eating Tiny teddies for the first time since I was a kid. There is something very moreish about them. It’s a bit dangerous, the whole box might get mindlessly consumed if I’m not careful!

was out for a walk early this morning. after an hour, even with brisk walking, came home freezing cold, windblown and ever so slightly damp, wondering what I had been thinking.

am now reaping the benefits by working in trackies, my slippers, with a cuppa, feeling smug as my wife complains about having to leave the house while I have done my exercise and errands for the day and can remain toasty warm and comfy inside.

same here. Is it schadenfreude? why yes, but that makes it no less delicious. Enjoy your trudge in the rain sir, me and my 11k steps shall be playing Totk

I made baby cheesecakes last night. Very easy to do.

baby cheesecakes
I used a block of philly cheese (Manhatten from aldi) at room temperature. Added a half a jar of lemon curd. A tiny bit of milk and a tablespoon of icing sugar. Gave it a stir until all combined. Put a butter nut biscuit in the muffin patty pan and top it with my mixture. Put them in the fridge to set.

You can make them with your choice of jam and biscuits.

It's raining here now so hopefully it kills the wind or I may lose a fence if it hasn't already gone. I'm too scared to go outside.

Ooo and the sun's out too. Jfc

hmmm, I don't think I'll be using this dinosaur fabric for masks after all. Partial long bronto neck looks a little odd . 🤨

That was a cold freaking walk back to the accom. 10C feels like 3, hectic winds, spattering rain - and now lots of wooshing and swooshing while I'm trying to settle down in bed. Pros and cons to getting accom with palms right out the window.

Absolutely fabulous day otherwise, was a bit nervous/overwhelmed at first but met heaps of good folks today. Weather aside, only downside was I think I had too much dairy in the dessert and got straight up liquid shits (scrambled to the toilet just in time). Or maybe it was the wine. I don't know but my gut definitely feels unsettled, still. I need a substantial breakfast tomorrow to make up for it. Ninight.

I would really like some coffee ice cream. diet says no 🥺

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 9 points 1 year ago

Horrible weather out there, it's actually getting colder. I stopped at Bunnings on the way home from work, they were closing off the garden entrance and had lost a few plants in the wind already. The staff were in remarkably good spirits considering how miserable it is outside today.

I love it when the man goes walkies on his lunch breaks. He finds the most incredible places that sell snacks.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 8 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Morning dog walk has been cancelled because of excessive wind. Possibly the afternoon dog walk will be cancelled for the same reason. Definitely not nice out there today.

Have you tried charcoal tablets?

My dog has no balls to lick so he grooms his toys instead whether they like it or not.

spoiler

Then he tries to give it to me knowing it's wet.

Can't believe I was wearing shorts yesterday and now I'm wearing my super thicc wool tights.

I also just wanna go home and play Starfield, though I do get my new glasses tonight so that should be exciting. Sad to retire my current ones.

Maybe next time I might go all out and buy the $249 pairs because they always fit the style I like, damn you Specsavers...

Cheesy scrambled eggs with mackerel and chilli-crisp

so I've figured out car wise what Im going to do. I've all but sold my car to pay for the mrs's car's loan. then im gonna get her car limping, sell it off and buy something brand new with a warranty. Its gonna cost a fortune, but given I stand to lose close to 20k on her car, and I'm having to sell mine to offset that I dont see we have a lot of other options. What do I do if I buy second hand and it blows up again? But I hear back from the diagnostics (mid next week) I dont know how much its going to cost to fix (If even possible). So I dont know the financial damage so I cant really order anything. Stressful. I just want this done and buried so I can move on.

A friend had her very limping car towed to a block of the dealer so she could drive it in. For trade in. Ethical? But what they pull is arguably worse

Don't tell Las Vegas but I'm pretty casino'd out. I'm not exactly sure who I am now but I've had zero urge to drink. Even when offered free booze I've been getting lemonade/soda or water.

Anyway it's 7:15pm and I've decided to lock myself in my room with some gummies, lemonade and a cup of donut balls while I watch Ahsoka.

fucking christ. trying to access work sever via vpn on a win10 laptop, vaguely mutter to myself "ugh you running sl-o-o-o-w is that why you're reporting as offline, baby?"

Windows fucking suggestion pops up with "Slow machine? check this" to which I say the only true and proper response of #YOU FUCKING WHAT MY SON

and prompt destruction of all microphone permissions.

This is a machine that has been gutted of bloatware and cortana, btw. Never. Trust. the cunce.

Holy shit I just saw what happened on Bourke. I regularly take the 86 / 96 and I use that specific stop a lot to get to work. So scary! Will keep the affected in my thoughts

Going for a run today was a bad idea. I thought my calf had fully healed, but 2km in and it started seizing up again. Probably put me back a few days. Real shame too, as my pace was probably my best yet, and I didn't even feel tired, but will just have to wait and see next time.

Guess I'll just stick to swimming until after my work conference.

My major case of hunger-grumps-crisis has been averted by hummus with pine nuts and crackers, phew!

I was way too spicy for the public.

It's very wimdy. 😲 The front door flew open unbeknownst to me, ( the lock mustn't have been snibbed ) so when I opened the back door a vacuum literally sucked a heavy vase off the window ledge which then smashed on the floor.

If I had a nickel every time my data was compromised in the past year. I’d have three nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened three time.

(Optus in September of last year, AHM in roughly November of last year and now Dymocks) (Also I posted this in Thursday's DT not realising it's Thursday and I'm like "it's been five hours, why have I only gotten one like?" idiot... hahaha)
