Yeah I have no idea why someone made a c/195 but it's not really relevant to the topic of where c/196 came from.
They were originally c/196 and renamed after this 196 became wildly more popular to avoid confusion.

Thank god the NFT avatars are no more. If any Fediverse instance tries to support NFTs, we must collectively agree to nuke them from orbit (or at least block the server from the rest of us).
