An open-ended community for asking and answering various questions! Permissive of asks, AMAs, and OOTLs (out-of-the-loop) alike.

In the absence of flairs, questions requesting more thought-out answers can be marked by putting [SERIOUS] in the title.

I am not much of a microblog user, neither actively engaging nor regularly passively consuming content from the likes of those services. But I like to dabble every now and then. I signed up for home.social a while back but it seems they shut down and am now looking for alternatives. I really like it here at Beehaw, so I ask: What is the Mastodon equivalent?

If you are a tech related person I like hachyderm.io

Second that. Hachyderm was the community that got me into the fediverse and it’s remained extremely high quality as it’s grown. The mods are thoughtful and—as far as I can tell—transparent.

I joined mastodon.social and just haven’t had the energy to switch (I wish you could bring your posts with you)

But hachyderm sounds awesome

Mapstodon also neat for map folks

If you like art, mastodon.art.

I'm a mod on mendeddrum.org, for all the Pratchett aficionados out there. It's pretty chill, our admin doesn't tolerate any kind of dick behaviour, and it's nice.
