I sometimes catch myself trying to click an app on the phone for example, out of sheer habit, and going cold turkey on Reddit this happened a couple of times in recent few days. But even though I haven't fully grasped the whole concept of fediverse communities, Beehaw is becoming my go-to reflex when I have few minutes to spend :)

Replaced Infinity for Reddit's icon/launcher with that of Jerboa for Lemmy.

I replaced Boost for Reddit with Jerboa :)

Literally me

[–] kspatlas@fedia.io 1 points 1 year ago

Am i the only one who finds jerboa ugly and hard to use?

I'm already spending way too much time here :D I just hope that the news communities (world news on lemmy.world for example) would become even more active.

Yeah it will be really interesting to see if the migration wave will stick. There's a balance between having an active community and quality one. I'm optimist in this case, only people looking for better interaction are migrating.

I've just started browsing All by New Comments or Top Day. Right now I'm finding the growth curve interesting enough that it's all quite interesting to me! I'm sure that will change if things keep growing here, but seems to be working well for the moment. Imagine trying that on Reddit...

I don't get World News vs News. They seem the same, but for the number of subscribers.

I switched from Firefox to LibreWolf around the same time as I joined Lemmy, so I made Beehaw one of my homepage tabs to help reinforce my habit of coming here. Of course, it didn't need that much help reinforcing since I already feel way more engaged on this site than I did with Reddit. But hey, beehaw 🐝🤠

I replaced the bookmark on firefox with beehaw also and so whenever I get my "reddit instinct" i end up on here.

I guess at this point it’s becoming a…… bee-flex 🥸

Same here. There's actually only 1 reddit community I still go to now, and that's /r/ROGAlly.

[–] sikhness@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Is there an equivalent community on lemmy for the ROGAlly yet?

[–] alehel 2 points 1 year ago

Not that I've found. A handheld pc gaming community would be nice.

[–] cutecycle 1 points 1 year ago

rogally gang represent

[–] myself33 2 points 1 year ago

i also switch to RSS for topics i don't want to interact with (politics...) I use lemmy with jerboa for everything else now

I’m slowly getting used to it but I think I’ll just stop when Apollo is gone

[–] karce@wizanons.dev 1 points 1 year ago

I'm still in the habbit of accidentally opening up Apollo and then seeing that nothing is available since it is all dark. Once Apollo is gone for good I'm deleting the app.

I've found for me it is easier to replace one source of scrolling with another. Replacing the act of scrolling entirely is the hard part.
