Will people start adding "lemmy" to the end of their Google searches? in c/lemmyworld@lemmy.world

I think a lack of full text search is one of the biggest turnoffs on mastodon for me -- and it's philosophically integrated at the core.

The hard part for Lemmy will be instances allowing indexing and finding some unifying keyword that would search multiple instances.

I think we'll have to cross our fingers that big instances will continue to allow in robots.txt?

We all know reddit was picking up the slack for google search and giving you real results from real people with real insight. I'm not going to lie: right now by trying not to click on the first reddit link I see in a google search, I dumber by the second.

What has your workaround been?

Am I making up fediverse drama? No... it's the Beehaw admins that are wrong in c/humor

it feels like cutting yourself off from the center of the universe.

imagine coming into a lemmy for the first time and finding oh, I have to maintain like 17 accounts to actually see the whole threadiverse

I got mine! I'm a weird user, so my purpose for this one was "native windows, on purpose." I use GOG + Playnite primarily.

I'm still setting up a lot of things and migrating from my Deck, but it's promising; a windows handheld with a bit less jank from a mainstream manufacturer.
