Chelsea keep asking for €80m fee, this is why deal was not progressing this week but it’s not over.

Would he be a starter at United or rather a back-up?

I think he would be right in-between. Depending on game situation might start ahead of Eriksen some games, other times Eriksen might be preferred. Perhaps similar to how 2 of de brune, gundogan, and Bernardo Silva start for city. Allows for rotation and midweek adjustments.

Might play as an 8 or a bit deeper with Casemiro. Wouldn't play every game.

I think he would start. He must be good enough to displace Fred

What about Eriksen and Sabitzer? Considering Bruno and Casemiro are probably locked in - only one spot left.

I'm not actually a United fan so I don't know what Sabitzer's loan situation is. But I do watch a lot of them and Eriksen is definitely on his last legs. I think he becomes a bench player next season.

My take on their center midfield targets is that Mount is a good player and would be good for them but he still doesn't solve their problem of progressive carries and tight possession. They need a De Jong type player and Mount definitely isn't that. But the midfield is very weak so he's an upgrade on what they have at least

Oh, I completely forgot Sabitzer was only on loan. Looked it up and it expires at the end of the month. Makes sense that he would be starting ahead of the rest if Eriksen isn't doing too hot anymore and they don't bring in another midfield option that fits better.

Chelsea need to sell to be able to buy any players right? They’ll probably soften their stance soon

You would think so. 70 million for mount seems like a steep price for sure.

This is Todd Boehly we're talking about, get your facts and logic out of here

“Lifetime contracts for all!”

As a Gooner, I wouldn't mind them giving Auba a longer contract, he deserves it

I actually hope they fail to sell and their funds are tied up so they stop going after our targets(also a Gooner)

Sad to see him go, but what can you expect when your juniors on workplace have more salary than you from the get go. :(

Do y'all think that this solves Man U's midfield problems? I'm not sure I'm convinced that Mount is worth the money tbh

Depends on the final fee. Around 40mil £ would be a worth it IMO.
