The worst one i heard is some people will spit in their ice cream to get it melty faster. Now you all know this too. Tycho Brahe of penny arcade once admitted to this atrocity.

Dude I wanted to downvote you just out of sheer disgust

This is horrific, I wish I didn't know... When I want the ice cream to melt faster I just put the spoon under a hot tap and let it run for a bit, or boil some water and pour it onto the spoon. I could not imagine spitting into my icecream that's vile. lol

i get putting a bit of hot water in it, but spitting in it to get it to melt faster?

[–] half_built_pyramids@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Dude, you putting your blizzard under the hot water faucet!?

[–] mlsus@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

just like putting a bit of hot water in the scooper if it doesn't melt fast enough

Hot scooper for sure. Cut through the freezer burn. I'll give you that. There's minimal transfer of the hot water, though. Not just like.

Eeew no. I am not dumping hot tap water into my ice cream. Especially not with UK hot water. That is stored in a boiler. Seems like a bad idea. I am just talking about heating the spoon lol

I'd suggest a quick blast from the hot tap instead, but I honestly don't know if that's better.

they were clearly digging to try & find the chips.

Lol I think they were just digging through it desperately looking for chocolate

Came to the comments to make sure I wasn't the only one to realize this lol

It's better without the chocolate anyway. So rare to find mint ice cream without it.

[–] LillianVS@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I really want a plain mint ice cream... not always in the mood for chocolate but I love mint anything lol

[–] Spitfire@pawb.social 1 points 1 year ago

Same. I love mint things (york patties are my jam), though no one else I know does, so they all get passed to me. Not that I mind!

I can never find mint ice cream in stores though. It's always mint&chip. If someone does know of a place that does sell just mint, please let me know!
