RULES (updated 01/22/25)

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling. To be concise, disrespect is defined by escalation.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible. You won't be punished for trying.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (politics or societal debates come to mind, though we are not saying not to talk about anything that resembles these). There's a guide in the protocol book offered as a mod model that can be used for that; it's vague until you realize it was made for things like the rule in question. At least four purple answers must apply to a "controversial" message for it to be allowed.
  4. Keep it clean and SFW: No illegal content or anything gross and inappropriate. A rule of thumb is if a recording of a conversation put on another platform would get someone a COPPA violation response, that exact exchange should be avoided when possible.
  5. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc. The chart redirected to above applies to spam material as well, which is one of the reasons its wording is vague, as it applies to a few things. Again, a "spammy" message must be applicable to four purple answers before it's allowed.
  6. Respect privacy as well as truth: Don’t ask for or share any personal information or slander anyone. A rule of thumb is if something is enough info to go by that it "would be a copyright violation if the info was art" as another group put it, or that it alone can be used to narrow someone down to 150 physical humans (Dunbar's Number) or less, it's considered an excess breach of privacy. Slander is defined by intentional utilitarian misguidance at the expense (positive or negative) of a sentient entity. This often links back to or mixes with rule one, which implies, for example, that even something that is true can still amount to what slander is trying to achieve, and that will be looked down upon.

One thing my grandma did to prove it was by saying ;sudo rm -rf --no-preserve-root / #. You can prove you're human by leaving that as a comment too.

[–] Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk 16 points 2 weeks ago

Between your grandma and Little Bobby Tables, I think we've got this thing covered.

[–] 0x01@lemmy.ml 21 points 2 weeks ago

You’re totally a bot looking for ideas aren't you

[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Haha, how funny. But you know what is funnier? These products and services:

[–] NotSteve_@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 4 points 2 weeks ago

I couldn't agree more.

[–] apotheotic 13 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm capable of dissenting about the western and eastern powers.

[–] Kitathalla@lemy.lol 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Suuuuure, you're caaaapable of it, but I don't see you doing it, bot!

[–] apotheotic 2 points 2 weeks ago

Darn I've been caught. Errmmmm. Trump and Biden bad, Mao and Putin bad. How is that, fellow flesh bag?

[–] smiletolerantly@awful.systems 12 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Elon Musk is a Nazi, AND the Chinese government murdered student protestors in the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre.

[–] NostraDavid@programming.dev 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Elon Musk is a ~~Nazi~~ cisgender

You should learn how to trigger the man.

[–] smiletolerantly@awful.systems 2 points 2 weeks ago

Wasn't really about triggering, I had just seen a post that ChatGPT will refuse to acknowledge that he is one.

[–] happydoors@lemm.ee 8 points 2 weeks ago

Yeet yeet yeet yeet yeet yeet Trump is a literal rapist. (yeet)

[–] TheImpressiveX@lemm.ee 7 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Prove I'm a real human...

Uh, you... remember when we went to Germany? You pay-per-viewed a video in your room? They didn't list the titles, but I could tell by the price it was an adult film at the front desk. And you didn't know how I knew—

[–] happydoors@lemm.ee 3 points 2 weeks ago

Alright that’s enough, Happy.

[–] Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk 2 points 2 weeks ago

That wasn't me, that was your mom.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 7 points 2 weeks ago

The capitalists have it coming.

Of course no problem, let me know if you need help with anything else. 😀

[–] missingno@fedia.io 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Can a LLM do this?

[20 page rant about a video game I'm mad at, with illustrated diagrams and painstakingly-researched source citations]

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 5 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Yes, but not for the game you're actually mad at, or in fact any game that actually exists.

[–] missingno@fedia.io 2 points 2 weeks ago

A LLM cannot channel the level of white-hot rage that I can.

I am 100% behind a Weird Al cover of Pink Pony Club as a mash up strip clubs and MLP.

[–] hendrik@palaver.p3x.de 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

My address is suchandsuch, come over and let's enjoy a coffee together. Bleep, bloop...

... and so's my wife?

[–] h3mlocke@lemm.ee 3 points 2 weeks ago

Instructions unclear.

[–] hexagonwin@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 2 weeks ago
[–] tal@lemmy.today 3 points 2 weeks ago

You can't, because it's possible for a bot to just consist of logic to send that same sentence.

[–] 01011@monero.town 3 points 2 weeks ago

Meta and OpenAI are scamming humanity.

[–] Akasazh@feddit.nl 2 points 2 weeks ago

Nice try, open ai!

[–] bastion@feddit.nl 2 points 2 weeks ago

[–] eezeebee@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago

I have memories as recent as the current date

[–] reallykindasorta@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 weeks ago

WHY IS EVERYONE YELLING. MY MEATBAG HOMIES AND I ARE RELAXING ON THE DECOMPOSING ORGANIC COMPOUNDS UNDER THE ~~CORPOREAL DECISION NETWORK~~ TREE WHILE ENJOYING THE RADIATION OF THE GREAT POWER SOURCE. AI CANNOT HAVE THE SENSATION OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS.

[–] StrongHorseWeakNeigh@lemm.ee 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm going to shit your pants.

In hopes that I can generate a sentence that no LLM has ever trained on before, "Extravagant paperclips contemplating stationary pomegranates spilling yellow sensibility."

[–] saigot@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago

My local Deepseek says:

"Teamwork is essential, yet coordinating everyone’s efforts feels like herding cats at times."
