after he bought twitter and made a big thing about auditing their code, there was a post going around that was something like
first he talked about cars, and i know nothing about cars but people said he was a genius so i believed it

now he's talking about computers, and i know a lot about computers, and he's saying some of the most batshit insane things i've ever heard, so i'm starting to reevaluate my earlier choices...

I mean, there was a period about 15 years ago when he seemed to be the only rich person actually talking about climate change, doing something that might make some difference (investing in an electric vehicle startup, and later a rooftop solar startup) and seemed to actually be concerned about it. I now question if that was just an act or not.
On the other hand there is the theory that he fell down the right wing social media pipeline during the pandemic and that's why he's seemed to have such a sudden shift on political party affiliation. I like that theory because I think it's kinda funny to imagine one of the richest men in the world being too cooped up and spending too long doomscrolling to the point that he became radicalized by social media algorithms
Nah he cosplayed as a goth once when he was a teenager. Other than that, he has always been a failed nerd.

127.0.0.1 means the local machine. The host.
rm is remove. -r is recursively. -f means use force if necessary.
The commands, when put together, would look something like this:
traceroute wokemindvirus (find the location of and path to the virus)
The virus has been located at localhost (internally)
rm -rf /127.0.0.1/wokemindvirus
Remove, forcefully and recursively until nothing is left, the woke virus, in the local host - USA.

This seems like it makes sense on at least 2 levels, either because he's saying he at some point had the 'woke mind virus' and deleted it, or more likely he's saying this is what people need to do to 'free' themselves of the 'woke mind virus'.
