Ben & Jerry's says parent Unilever silenced it over Gaza stance (www.reuters.com)

In its new lawsuit, Ben & Jerry's says that Unilever has breached the terms of the 2022 settlement, which has remained confidential. As part of the agreement, however, Unilever is required to "respect and acknowledge the Ben & Jerry's independent board's primary responsibility over Ben & Jerry's social mission," according to the lawsuit.

But, according to the lawsuit, "Ben & Jerry's has on four occasions attempted to publicly speak out in support of peace and human rights. Unilever has silenced each of these efforts."

Far be it from me to suck corporate shaft, but 4 attempts to support a side so divisive is more than I'd expect from marketing. Maybe they actually give a damn.

@KillingAndKindess @alyaza B&J's have always been quite principled and outspoken about it - they're also staunch critics of the US prison industrial complex.

I've only skimmed it, I'll admit, but all I saw was that it said there were 4 attempts. I didn't see what they were, apart from the 1 I already knew of which was mentioned (the 2021 instance).
