Quick reminder that this is the gold standard for election calls. The AP has a more than 99% success rate over its history.

If you need to know what's going on, this is the only sane source. PBS is relying on AP calls, but of course with a bit of a delay.

It is looking very grim, but I think it's important to remember that some states in 2020 had millions of votes cast and came down to a difference of 20,000 votes.

Still, disheartening.

"Very grim" would be a significant improvement.

I never thought I'd have to use my dual citizenship, but this? This is an affront to the very ideals of this nation, or just going back to the original text. Doesn't much matter, as I have an escape route. Now, I just need to set that in motion. Good luck to the rest of you.

The fallout from another Trump presidency will be global. Your dual citizenship might not be enough to keep you safe. Copycat far right governments, wars, pandemics, general instability and uncertainty. Pick your poison.

I'm in Canada and see Trump bumper stickers from time to time. The province I live in is trying to do a not so stealthy push to privatized health care. Things are likely going to get worse

Historically, you don't want to fuck with Switzerland. We like to blow up bridges and tunnels when threatened. But we'll take your gold.

Switzerland removed explosives from critical infrastructure years ago.

Sure. But it's not like we can't attach more in the future.

Too bad this won't save you from the bastards that call themselves the SVP. Those are among the extremist parties who might feel emboldened/inspired by Trump and Project 2025.

a lot changed in 30 minutes

I see nothing from the AP that suggests anything other than what I was speaking about.

I meant from when I commented. She was behind a little but it seemed like there were still a massive amount of votes to count.

30 minutes later he was at 267
