The New York Times Climate Forward event will align with the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, and one its speakers will be Kevin D. Roberts, president of The Heritage Foundation and Heritage Action for America.

Project 2025 is a [Republican] presidential playbook to dismantle democracy, spearheaded and organized by the far-right Heritage Foundation, and with 100 coalition partner organizations, many of which are well-known for pushing anti-LGBTQ policy, climate change denials, anti-abortion views, and harmful rhetoric, accompanied by Christian nationalism.

Hey, I think this may actually be fake. Did you notice the URL is nytco.com rather than the one all their news articles typically come from, nytimes.com?

There is a new trend of bad actors trying to impersonate big publications by changing the URL slightly and copying the website design. Some of them are very convincing. This one was hard to figure out because the NYT is indeed owned by NYT Company, but all news articles are posted through nytimes.com (with the exception of only this particular article). When you search for New York Times Company, nytco.com doesn't even come up.

Maybe, we can't be sure nowadays.

The site/URL was first registered on 1997-11-14, though, and the NYT is featuring him also at https://www.nytimes.com/events/climate-forward-2024

The New York Times is a right-wing rag, and we should stop pretending it's not.
