Attributing gender to someone's song preferences has to be the strangest example of mental gymnastics I've seen for a while.

Meh, there's a ton of songs written strictly from female perspectives or with a female audience in mind. From Peggy Lee to the Spice Girls and so on.
I feel like they apply as "Girl Songs".
Not how I personally interpreted the question, but that's a fair point.
Even if that's the case though, I don't see why anyone would have to keep it a secret. To quote a favourite 'girl song' of mine..."Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated?"
Being insecure isn't teenager exclusive, I guess.
I think OP is just asking the age-old question of "what is you guilty pleasure pop-song". Just very poorly worded. I'm not gonna hold that against 'em.
Are you new to the whole βhumanβ thing? We gender absolutely everything.

Call Me Maybe, such a banger
I'm the same way, but mine is "Toxic" also by Brittany.
Pretty much everything by Avril Lavigne.
Have you heard the recent album with the Blink 182 guys? Travis Barker drums with Avril's vocals are great.
Oh wow. Yeah I have it but didn't realise the Blink 182 guys were involved till now.
I don't know what qualifies as "girl" music.
Same. I like iwrestledabearonce, they have a lady singer
I'm a Barbie Girl.
It's not a secret. I am a cishet male 90s girl. I love Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos and to a lesser extent the Indigo Girls, Jewel, Dido (though she came a little later).
You're a what?
cisgendered heterosexual
Oh, one of those modern things
Max Martin is the genius working behind most of the artists mentioned in this thread. The dude is a total hit parade machine and the fact that no one said his name tells me a lot about how music is perceived in the mainstream.
Yeah I saw that YouTube short too dude. But nobody cares about writers
What short?
Possibly because this thread is about the songs, not the producers, but please I would absolutely love for you to expand on what it tells you about how music is perceived in the mainstream, should my eyes ever stop spinning like a one armed bandit.
No need to be sarcastic, I'm not attacking anyone on a personal level.
I know this thread is about songs, in fact I wanted to give credit to the people who actually had an active part in writing these songs (not just producing).
I know people cannot always credit every member working behind a piece of music, like it's a scientific paper, but if you're a lover of this art sometimes is nice to stop and be curious about who these people are and how they work. If you don't you're just a consumer, which is fine but you're missing a big part of the process.
Surprised how nobody mentioned "Everytime We Touch" by Cascada
I really like the Electric Callboy cover of it. You should listen to it.
I don't know of any particular song but I like a lot of female pop artists that as a guy I am not supposed to like. I like Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande and all the rest of them as well as genie in a bottle by Christina Aguilera and some Britney Spears. Quite frankly, I don't give a fuck what other people think about me. If you don't like me, then it's probably best that we not talk with each other anyway.
"That as a guy I am not supposed to like."
Right in the feels, man.
I normally listen to heavy metal, rock maybe nerdcore rap. The other night, I was alternating between the albums of Natalie Imbruglia and Melanie Chisholm. There's some good stuff in there.
Speaking of Heavy Metal and Natalie Imbruglia. I really liked Steve Welsh's "If Korn wrote Torn"
senorita. I can feel the lyrics even it's sung by a female. "I love it when you call me senorita, every touch is oh-lala"
My wife got me into Rihanna, and Lana Del Ray.
I guess a good bit of Emilie Autumn could fall into that class if I where to put tags on it.
Pretty Girl Rock by Keri Hilson is a fucking jam
Yael Naim - New Soul
As a huge swiftie, there are a lot of songs to pick from.
I don't really think of songs as girl songs or boy songs. That being said, I guess La vie en rose by Edith Piaf, I guess? Nothing secret about it, though.
Also, no secret in me liking I want it that way. Never told anyone, but that's because nobody ever asked me.
Tori Amos's Silent All These Years. That mercurial little piano riff. The painful lyrics. The liberation of the middle eight. It's a perfect song.
It's raining men by the weather girls.
This may not exactly answer your question, but I saw a question the other day on another platform "Men, what song that is sung by a female vocalist do you sing with all your heart?" Below was my answer to that question.
Love Story - Tayler Swift
Fast Car - Tracy Chapman
Ashes - Celine Dion
Waterfalls - TLC
Jolene - Dolly Parton
Fucking Perfect - Pink!
Hello - Adele
Higher Love - Whitney Houston
Beyond The Burning Skies - Battle Beast
I Get Off - Lizzy Hale
Oh man, I literally can't answer this. I mainline EDM, I would end up laundry listing a hundred or so vocalists.
I'll just say that JES is legendary and I have a playlist that's like 15 hours of electronica with her vocals and it rules.
Torn - Natalie I
Just hits the balls hard.
Iβm a 47 year old man.
Whenever I hear Salute by Little Mix, I bop along. How could you not?
"Best Thing I Never Had" by Beyonce. Does it qualify?
The Beaches - Blame Brett
I've had Girls Aloud in my rotation recently. Their songs are just fun and really catchy. Also have The Veronicas, Brittany Spears, Taylor Swift etc...
Take me Home by Jess Glynn
Countdown by Beyonce... It's super catchy and puts a big smile on my face!
