An open-ended community for asking and answering various questions! Permissive of asks, AMAs, and OOTLs (out-of-the-loop) alike.

In the absence of flairs, questions requesting more thought-out answers can be marked by putting [SERIOUS] in the title.

I'm having a really specific problem trying to play a game with my friend on fedora linux, and the internet seems to hold no wisdom for me. Can I ask for tech support here, or on the gaming community? I'm used to reddit where posts get deleted for being off topic, and often asking in a specific community is also considered off topic, so I'm trying to NOT have my thing deleted so i can play rain world with my friend.

Gaming mod here. We're pretty lax on being on or off topic. Your post would definitely be welcome on there, and I imagine on the technology community as well!

Yeah most communities aren't flooded with posts so as long as you've done basic searching yourself then it would be welcome in most places. So !gaming@beehaw.org for example.

Outside of the Beehaw instance, try !linuxquestions@lemmy.zip or !linuxgaming@lemmy.ml for the most relevant communities of people that might be able to solve your issue.

This community is meant for questions! :) Yeah, you may not necessarily get the best answers here than on a community that specializes on that sort of thing, but I don't consider that "off-topic".
