Billy Mitchell didn't win his defamation lawsuit against Twin Galaxies. Not only was Billy not in a position to get a financial settlement, Billy's cheated Donkey Kong scores were not reinstated(as he's claiming), and his claimed Pac-Man score from 1999 is also not on the main scoreboards. What had happened is that the score is technically still up on the "historical scoreboard" from 2014, which is meaningless. Billy's attempts to spin this as a win are especially ludicrous when he still has to deal with lawsuits against Karl Jobst and David Race, and Karl, at least, has incentive to string his lawsuit out as long as possible.

I read that as "surrendered to the authorities" and I thought WOW there must have been some Billy Mitchell developments that I was not aware of.

He got Pac-Man Fever and went on a murderous rampage

*Rampage.

It was right there and you didn't use it?

Apologies. I was fatigued from a World Tour.

This is a very long video but anyone interested in this story should watch this.

This dude tears him down for almost 4 hours with tons of evidence of this fuck nut cheating and constantly fucking lying about it. It's a great video.

Very informative and well documented and yet found it super entertaining. Thanks for the video link.

I thought so too. No problem!

Wow. That guy should run for president, or something. All American icon, film star, great con man... 😯

[–] businessfish@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 10 months ago

while funny, the accolades you listed aren't enough for billy to be elected - clearly he isn't that great a conman!

Billy Mitchell? The cheater?

[–] jarfil 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Yeah, the businessman with followers, indictments, and victim of an unfair witch hunt, who keeps rambling during depositions. Looks like a Trump's apprentice.

[–] jtk@lemmy.sdf.org 28 points 10 months ago

I'm surprised he's not a member of congress yet

Billy Mitchell directly contributed to Apollo Legend's suicide through constant harassment and bullying tactics.

Fuck Billy Mitchell, I hope Karl curb stomps his ass.

Fuck Billy Mitchell

I didn't read the article and was very confused when I skimmed the comments. There's a famous Billy Mitchell who was very important in developing American air doctrine around World War II.

Look at this wise man and his history knowledge.

[–] conciselyverbose@kbin.social 17 points 10 months ago

lol at the settlement requiring deleting a thread.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 11 points 10 months ago

I still find it hilarious that Peter Dinklage looks like a mini version of him and that he basically played him in Pixels.

[–] Computerchairgeneral@kbin.social 10 points 10 months ago

While it's better than nothing, and I understand why they made the choice, it's still disappointing it's a settlement and not going to trial. Oh well. Just have to wait and see what happens with the other lawsuits he's tangled up in.

[–] Infinity187@lemm.ee 7 points 10 months ago

Can't wait for a Charlie follow up on this.

[–] zzzzz 7 points 10 months ago (2 children)

and Karl, at least, has incentive to string his lawsuit out as long as possible.

What is his incentive? Sorry, I watched a couple of the videos but haven't been following too closely.

[–] Knuschberkeks@feddit.de 12 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Mainly he has a good reason to make more videos.

According to Karl, Billy must pay all the legal fees if he withdraws from the lawsuit. He must also pay the legal fees if he loses. Billy's only way out of paying would be to win the lawsuit.

So the longer Karl strings him along, the more the fees will mount.

And since Billy doesn't have a leg to stand on he can either withdraw now, pay a lot of money, and admit he lied. Or he can keep fighting mounting more fees in the slim nope of winning.

That's a classic right there.
