Love seeing all the psychopaths out themselves on cat threads...

Cats are fantastic companions, but there is no denying the damage they do ecologically. I think the ACT is moving in the right direction by progressively introducing laws to make all cats contained.

It's a better outcome for wildlife and the cats themselves.

Do you have a link to the ACTs approach? Quite keen to see how they've gone about it and reading the primary legislation is a bit dry for me

I would be keen to see cats moved into the same category as rabbits. Practically speaking, you'd grandfather the existing pets, but once their natural lifespans were over, no new ones could be registered as pets.

I don't really agree. Cats that are contained inside should be allowed. However there should be trapping programs etc. in bushlands and big fines for if cats are outside.

Domestic rabbits also aren't really an issue, the wild populations are well and truly established and the types of rabbit are more suited to living in the wild anyway.
