Mainly on desktop, I use Debian 12, and it has an RX 6700 XT, i5 11400f, and 64GB ram. I have a Nintendo Switch I use sometimes, and I just finished a project I had for a weird gaming phone setup steam deck-ish thing for emulation with a used OnePlus 7 Pro I bought for cheap and a Gamesir X2 that I leave on it 24/7 with a custom OS
How is that for retro emulation?
It's pretty good, the controller maps pretty well for most emulators and the phone itself is strong enough to run up to Gamecube at full speed, even upscaled. I haven't tried pushing it with Nintendo Switch games yet. Retro games run perfectly.
Be sure to keep an eye on the new yuzu android build, I've tried it on my s21 but it's too unstable to even get performance numbers but I'm hopeful.
Will do, I haven't touched Skyline or that one other emulator that stole code from Yuzu, but I'm waiting on a few Yuzu updates to run it when it gets a little more stable. I don't really know what goes into building an emulator, but I imagine the Nintendo Switch and ~~Android~~ most Android phones both having ARM processors will let them optimize it really well with enough dev time.
I have an S23+ as my daily driver phone if Yuzu ends up too demanding for the op7pro, but I'd prefer not to melt the battery in my main if possible
