I have a pair of Ecco shoes I wore to work every day, 6-8 hours a day for 3 solid years and other than new laces and some leather conditioner are still doing ok. Probably close to a resole but they have been fantastic. Would definitely buy another pair.
I wear Chuck Taylors all day every day now that my job is more casual, and my current pair is 15-16 months old now and still fine, although have a few spots where some glue has come undone so starting to look ragged sometimes. But they are comfortable and function as they should. I had one pair I wore for 7 years before I had to hang them up, so they really vary. And part of that time I was wearing my Eccos at work so they got a lot less daily wear.
