When executives at Showtime pulled a VICE documentary exploring Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ experiences with Guantanamo Bay detainees, it was hard to ignore the timing: It was one day after DeSantis officially declared for president.

The Daily Beast has obtained a transcript of that unaired documentary, “The Guantanamo Candidate,” which was anchored by Seb Walker, a longtime correspondent for the Emmy-winning newsmagazine.

You're probably thinking of the McCain-Feingold Act limiting political media from being used as a loophole to do an end run around campaign finance limitations.

But don't worry, SCOTUS overturned that and decided that unlimited dark money in campaigns was just fine after a certain organization called Citizens United complained about not being allowed to air their Hillary hit piece:

It may have been hinted that it was used in that way, what I think was the end goal was the fairness of all things, and this was going to give trump a lot more cheap air time for himself when ever they had any mention of democrats jockeying for office but I am still looking into the relevant laws on this and trying to find the reddit thread that gave me this thought to start with.

And to those downvoting me, thats fine. But also understand just like I said here and in the DM's I wrote back, I never claimed I knew this to be 100% true, so calm down just a bit.
