I just missed mine. Feeling pretty stupid right now. Hopefully your stories will cheer me up.

Not a missed flight story, but definitely a change of flight due to stupidity story.

I was in Amsterdam partying it up with two friends. The next stop on our vacation was Iceland. One friend and I had booked our flight to Reykjavík together, and the other had booked the same flight on his own sometime after we had booked ours. At one point the friend I had booked with and I start talking about how we wish we had given ourselves another day in Amsterdam and didn't have to leave the next day. My other friend is like, "Wait, what? We're leaving in two days." The first friend and I are like, "No, we're definitely leaving tomorrow. Did you book your flight for the wrong day?" Second friend checks his ticket, "Shit, I must have. It's at the same time as yours but two days from now instead of tomorrow. I don't want to get there a full day after you." So he rebooks his ticket for tomorrow and has to pay a big fee for the last minute change.

The next morning, I wake up, and a thought occurs to me. Did my friend I booked with or I actually check our own tickets at any point during this conversation?

Our tickets were for the next day all along. My friend rebooks his flight back to what it was, we pay him back for all of the change fees since we had led him astray, and we take away a very important lesson:

TLDR Don't change your flight bookings while on shrooms.
