@lemmy I just realized that you can submit posts to any lemmy community from any mastodon / fediverse account. This is pretty cool!

One of many newbies here, but your post makes me wonder... is there a way to link my lemmy and mastodon accounts? Would I then see the same feeds on both interfaces?

@Shdwdrgn You can follow a community by searching for [!communityname@servername.domain](/c/communityname@servername.domain). Then you should be able to follow all posts from Mastodon.

I just tried this for this very comment, and strangely while I could find your account from mastodon, I couldn't find this post (unless I followed the URL directly, but then I wasn't exactly viewing it from mastodon anymore)

I find this interesting becouse I've seen plenty of examples of it working just fine, but it seems slightly inconsistent
