Relaxed section for discussion and debate that doesn't fit anywhere else. Whether it's advice, how your week is going, a link that's at the back of your mind, or something like that, it can likely go here.

the big stickied thread is getting cluttered with lots of new people and the "how was your week" thread isn't a great fit for introductions, so it seems about time to make this a dedicated thread of its own so peoples' posts aren't getting lost.

tell us a little bit about yourself, folks. don't gotta be too specific or revealing, just whatever you want to put out there. this'll be a good way of getting to know all the people you're now on here with

What does a "tech librarian" do?! That sounds fantastic!

It's kind of a broad term, but for me personally, it's someone who does library work more 'behind the scenes' of what you think of when you think libraries! For example, like most other librarians, I have my Masters in Library Science, but my work focuses on creating the digital catalog systems that libraries use to keep track of collections, while also doing things like integrating technology into libraries, website stuff, the whole digital side of it all!

Sounds like a great job!

I always wanted to be a librarian, or at least a part of me did. A year or so ago I seriously considered follow it up (that and literally a lighthouse keeper...you can tell how my work had been that particular month!), but never did. So, I'm a little jealous! And your particular field of it all sounds even better.

Those online book borrowing systems for the Kindle/Kobo? Best thing to happen on the digital side of libraries in my opinion!
