From the article:

A protein called USAG-1, synthesized by the gene, was found to limit the growth of teeth. In other words, blocking the action of that protein could allow more teeth to grow.

It would be a great community norm to encourage reading the article first, at least here on Beehaw <3

On Reddit, my typical behavior would be to skim a few comments looking for quick explanation. If I was particularly interested, and no comment covered my questions, then I’d go to the article and fill in the relevant info into the discussion.

But it takes a decent number of decently active users to sustain such a model without reading lots of articles every day.
