Cambodian revolution is a perfect example of this. Killing of targeted minorities under the guise of class revolution.
Whenever someone advocates for violence against some group of people, it inevitably turns into some type of persecution thats colored by the prejudices of those in power and within the existing social norms.
Plenty of anti colonial militia groups turned against minority groups when they took power.
