While doing genealogy, I found that on my mother's side of the family (who grew up in a rural poor community) was Arthur Cappell. He was executed by Parliament for supporting the Royalists during the civil war. My Southern ancestors are guilty of worse things, but this still weirds me out whenever I think about it considering my personal very leftwing politics.
