My first read on this is to be pretty excited; the new dailies system looks interesting, more accessible skyscale will be good for newer players, etc.

Keep in mind that they are vastly different games, but gw2 is definitely worth checking out if you have an interest in it. Despite all the flaws it's still one of the best and most casual-friendly mmorpg on the market and I still keep finding my way back to it every now and then even after 10 years.

I think the vastly different part is why I never got into it, but it's been a long time since I played the first, so I don't have much attachment to it any more.

Be aware that GW2 controls feel like regular MMOs like WoW, whereas GW1 had a more point and click feel iirc. Loved GW1 but hate the regular MMO feel that GW2 adopted
