Hi guys I recently saw due to reddit api Apollo is going under on Jun 30th. I remember the dev mentioning he would give an option to decline refunds (similar to tweet bot).

Do you know if he will give this option on June 30th or is there a process?

We should ask the Apollo developer to make changes to his app to point to Fediverse-based alternatives. That way he doesn't have to abandon his application and we don't lose one of the best apps.

So far the Dev (who has/is active on Mastodon) has said he’s not immediately planning on developing Apollo for the fediverse. Which I can understand, he must feel pretty burnt, and probably burnt out. He’s a nice dude, I really wish the best for him whatever he chooses to do next.

I think just a screen after June 30 that mentions alternatives would be nice.

There are projects that aim to provide a compatibility layer for Lemmy API to make it looks like Reddit API. When it's finished, all the devs need to do is to update their apps to point to the new API server instead of reddit's API server. Still not ready yet, but when they do, I'm sure people will notify those developers about them so they can consider to update their app to support Lemmy.
