We should ask the Apollo developer to make changes to his app to point to Fediverse-based alternatives. That way he doesn't have to abandon his application and we don't lose one of the best apps.

So far the Dev (who has/is active on Mastodon) has said he’s not immediately planning on developing Apollo for the fediverse. Which I can understand, he must feel pretty burnt, and probably burnt out. He’s a nice dude, I really wish the best for him whatever he chooses to do next.
I think just a screen after June 30 that mentions alternatives would be nice.
There are projects that aim to provide a compatibility layer for Lemmy API to make it looks like Reddit API. When it's finished, all the devs need to do is to update their apps to point to the new API server instead of reddit's API server. Still not ready yet, but when they do, I'm sure people will notify those developers about them so they can consider to update their app to support Lemmy.
Would love some pointers. Maybe I can help out.
I thought you had to request the refund through Apple (which you would be entitled to), but he asked us not to.
He stated that he had been working with an Apple employee that was guiding him through the process of how to return all of the money to the subscription users. He stated the estimated value of the return would approximately be 250k out of his pocket if everyone asked for a prorated refund but that there would be a way deny the refund if you wished. Never did he ask users not to ask for a refund.
