My girlfriend and I wanna start streaming eventually to get some extra sidehustle going, also to just get us out if our current situations.

Well heres my pitch: im an IMO amateur blender user and im thinking of starting streaming by making my own avatar, using that fot a while and than improving that model and using that, and just continue with this every so often.

Is that something somewhat interesting? Is that something someone would watch? Or should I pay someone for a model after all?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I am not really familiar with the process of making a model so take this with a grain of salt.

TLDR; if you think you will enjoy streaming more with a paid model and feel confident in your ability to entertain others then you should do that, otherwise it might be better to make your own.

I believe that you're thinking too much about the model. While it does play a big role, a bigger part of getting viewers is to be entertaining. A model can attract viewers but it does not guarantee that they will stay, and seeing as models can get quite expensive I would advise against paying for one since if you're not entertaining to the viewers then soon there will be no one to actually see the model.

HOWEVER, if you do not really care about numbers or viewers and are just doing this for fun and you believe you will enjoy yourself more with a paid model (and can afford it) then go for it! If you think you'll have more fun creating your own model then do that. IMO the best approach to streaming is to just enjoy yourself since if you yourself are not having fun then the viewers likely won't either. Not to mention only focusing on numbers can be quite stressful and de-motivating so I really believe your top priority should be to just have fun.

Let me re-iterate that I am just a single viewer out of thousands in a stream so I would probably go ask more people about what they think (i.e in Discord servers or other forums) before making my decision.

It seems my English skill might have had this taken wrong

I was talking specifically making a model on stream

I had a talk with my gf since I posted.that question (she's the reason I even asked, we wanna debut together now)

Current standing is maybe get some cheaper models and go from there, I still wanna try and attempt making my own model on stream

But you are right, I don't really care about numbers, it was more just to gauge interest

Oh sorry about the misunderstanding. That does sound very interesting actually, I recon there are quite a few people who would find that fun and would tag along. You could use it to build some hype for the duo debut stream (which might I add is a good idea, debuting together!). You could also get some cheap models if you find it too hard or if it does not turn out as amazing as you had hoped. Overall, I think that's a good idea and you should go along with it. Do drop a link to your channel when that happens (I am pretty sure that does not break any rules, do correct me if I am wrong) and I'll check it out!

Thanks for the encouragement So well see, maybe the plan changes over the course of the month, but us wanting to debut together will be a constant

yes I am very VERY stubborn so making a model on stream needs to at least be attempted

Speaking of which, I do want blender sculpting to be part of what I stream, not just gaming like everyody else does

Not like my models are anything noteworthy yet IMO, but thats besides the point
