I greatly enjoyed "So now that we're done moving the goalposts, we can start porting Unix to the Famicom Disc System" and "the kernel is running trust me".

Yes.

The EverDrive emulates the FDS in the same way it can do dozens of other mapper chips. It can even emulate expansion chip audio -- however, since on the NES the connectors to do so have been removed, it requires a modification to the console.
