Hi all, looking for an iOS app I can use for Lemmy.world. Mlem is absolutely not the answer, at least not anytime in the near future. Thanks for the help! Any navigation tips for mobile browsing would be much appreciated as well!

Agreed! It’s far from being Apollo just yet, but already it’s a fairly good experience.

Posted from Mlem.

I’m also posting this from Mlem. What works works pretty well, but it is obviously still in beta for a reason, and the biggest reason is that it is missing some major things that make day to day use very difficult. It is missing ability to see your subscribed communities unless you favorited them. It is missing the ability to search for communities, and to see anything you’ve already posted (your profile) or if you have a notification or reply. (Oh, and the ability to edit your posts…I saw a typo in this and had to go to the web version to fix it). All of those core features need to be added pretty quickly.

Jerboa on Android is not perfect either but it is much further along in development at this stage.

Are we not using the same app? Mlem shows your subbed communities by default, and you can search for communities.

What build are you on (Shown in TestFlight)? I don’t see a search bar anywhere on 0.0.6 (22)

I’m also using 0.0.6 (22)

Search bar at the top

Thanks! Turns out I‘m just blind. I thought it was only a drop-down menu. That fixes my biggest gripe with Mlem right there.

Maybe we're not? For me, my subscriptions are all lumped together in a single feed. If i want to look at posts from a single specific sub, i have to either have that sub favorited, or scroll until I find a post in the combined feed from that sub, then tap into it.

For the life of me, I can’t find a "search" option anywhere.

Maybe not....there is no place for me to see subbed communities, nor to search within the app. I'm using version 0.0.6, which appears to be the latest in TestFlight. Until the development gets a little further, I'm just sticking with a pinned web app.

For the record, I'm not saying that it won't show posts from your subbed communities, but that you can't find a list of your subbed communities (unless you've specifically favorited them), within the app, so you can go directly to that community.
