I've beeing searching for an SKX007 for quite some time. Since being discontinued the prices have spiked on used one, between $350-800ish AUD depending on condition.

I have a rule to not look at cheaper or different alternatives, once I'm decided on a watch. The idea being if I buy something cheaper or as a compromise, I'll eventually regret not buying the watch I truely wanted. I've previously had this experience. This time I broke my rule. My collection is very heavy on Seiko and lately I've had a love affair with Citizen. Citizen Fugu was selling for $400 new. I love the unique look and pufferfish on the case back. After watching reviews and doing research, I've seen it described as Citizens SKX007 in some places. It has a sapphire crystal which the SKX does not. They both feature 21.8k bph workhorse movements. Very similar divers whilst also appearance wise looking completely different. Very happy with my overall choice.

I got tired of setting watches in my collection since I rarely wear the same watch two days in a row. If someone asks for time I look at my phone anyway. So I treat my vintage watches as bracelets. If someone points to the watch showing the wrong time ( which has never happened) I'll say it’s set to a different time zone. Am I the only one who does this? I also want to protect the skin on my fingers, some watches require force to wind them daily.

I've search in the sub and all recommendations are around Timex ironman, G-Shocks or other big watches but my wrist is thin 15.5cm/6.1inch. Now I wear a miband which is not bad but no gps and id like to change it. Can u guys recommend a pref smart watch with gps or at least watch with stopwatch? (Not apple if possible and comfy to sleep with, not very thick) Thank you so much in advance

Hey y’all. I met Mike Tyson today in Vegas and wanted to see if y’all could identify his watch. Looks to be a hublot of some sort but can’t tell for sure. Thanks!

Not sure if this is unusual or par for the course but I bought a watch last week in the Friday sales. Seller said it would be delivered on the 29th fair enough. No receipt in the box they emailed me a photo of the "original receipt" but it's dated the day after I purchased the watch at £50 cheaper.

It's just a moonswatch so not an high price piece and I appreciate companies need to make money but is that usual feels like I've been charged £50 for them to go to the shop for me?

Ain't no Grand Seiko but I like the dial on this Paisley dial G Shock (GA-2100BP-1A).

As the title says, I’m on vacation and was looking at some omegas when the sales assistant said she also works at the VC boutique next door. I offhandedly asked if they had any overseas being completely facetious. She said yes and invited me upstairs. First time buyer of VC and first time buyer from the AD and I was treated like I’ve spent hundreds of thousands with them before. The selection they pulled out and was offered had my jaw on the floor.

I want to add a GMT to my collection, but it's hard to find many under ~40mm. I'd love one that's 36-38mm (even 39.5mm looks too large on me). Budget is open, but ideally around $1000.

What are some of your favorites?

I noticed that in lots of candid photos (and even in watch review videos), tritium tube watches will seem dim and uneven to the point where they look kind of crappy. Digital/phone cameras can't seem to catch the light tritium puts out correctly- they aren't as good at seeing it as your eyes are. When I like a watch I always look online for candid pictures of people wearing it so I can see what the watch looks like outside of photoshopped promo pictures, but for tritium watches that doesn't work very well. So for anyone wondering, with the brightness of my Pixel phone set at about 40% (so I don't blow my eyes out in the dark) this is what the tritium tubes in a Deep Blue watch will look like when the watch is actually on your wrist. A lot of companies get the tubes from the same place, so it's probably a good standard.

Hello, I am looking to choose between the two watches mentioned in the title and I need help. I am planning to use this watch daily or at least 4 times a week if I have to do things that can damage the watch. This means I plan to use it both in summer with a t-shirt, in winter when I can dress a bit better and on some rare events where I need to wear a suit. The main things I am looking for are: resistance (how long will it maintain if cared for), sustainability (how easy is it to repair it and how pricey) and last but not least looks. For the Maestro I am looking also at changing the strap with a plain black leather one. I have also not yet decided on the colors and I would prefer getting some advice on how well the 4 attached watches look in real life before making a choice. One thing that makes me like like the Maestro more is the non-existent water resistance sign that adds to the minimalist look and also makes it easier to dress down. Thanks for the help in advance!

Got the orient last week as my first automatic and fell in love. Discovered a whole world of Soviet watches but wanted something new instead of going vintage at this stage of my collection so ordered the Vostok retro and got that today and I’m in love with the design. Not sure what’s next but might go for something European next.

Been looking at GMT watch that does not break a bank, i travel a little bit across the country, and an opportunity came up to purchase this one, slightly used. It looks good worn casually and thin enough to wear with french cuff shirt, I like the watch, just think it is a bit small for my wrist. I also do not know if I like the metal band so wanted to see if anyone can suggest a good alternative that may look OK.

Out running errands and waiting for the stop light to turn green. Really am enjoying this new acquisition. Super comfortable on my 7 inch wrist. Trade a Tutima plus cash put this on my wrist.

I know it’s sacrilege to some vintage collectors, but just got my Seamaster 600 back from the Omega factory, and I am super happy with how it came out.

As you might be able to see from the image, this crystal has a small chip and is like to replace it. My question is, is this just press fitted or is it glued in? I have a press and have plenty of experience with replacing crystals but I haven’t done one for the back before

Hello!

I'm looking for a new watch, mainly will be used for every day and for times when a gshock is meh.

I'd like it to be as less flashy as possible, some of the boxes to check off are:

-Black or Brushed stainless finish -Preferably a black dial -I'd like to get a sapphire crystal is possible for my budget range, but mineral would be fine -Solar or Automatic movement -Good Lume -budget around $200 can fluctuate a bit +-$50 for a start

Drop your recommendations below!

Thank you in advance!

Hi,

I'm looking for a versatile dress watch that works with a suit as well as in a more casual setting (e.g. jeans with a shirt or nice sweater). I was initially thinking of getting a Longines Flagship, which I think is a really stunning watch, but I'm afraid it's a bit too dressy for my purpose. So I came across the Tudor 1926, which has a white dial and a slightly more casual look. Price wise there is little difference between the two but tech wise I think the Longines is superior. What would you suggest?

Hello everybody,

I just bought a leather strap in replacement of the steel bracelet. What do you think about this combo? The watch is more confortable with the leather strap. Do you have ideas for another strap?

Thank you in advance for your advice.
