Yeah! Geomag, tomography, and dating are all really important tools, and magma dynamics is a whole encyclopedia waiting to be written. So cool!

This is just another study confirming what has been known for years. MLE is the multicultural expansion of cockney. Much of the accent survives, but has been modified by exposure to many cultures. Its been identified as the dominant native london accent foresomething like a decade.

Ok, so, this is in the context of closed timelike curves. This is a thing which appears in the math of general relativity. It has never been observed in real life, and may disappear if we ever have a reconciliatian of quantum mechanics and gravity.

The study was a computer simulation of "what if we had some particles in a closed timelike curve and could mess with them", and there is no suggestion of this being applicable or even possible in the real world.

I have started daydreaming of a career change to geology. There are just so many unanswered questions and its not like space or physics were these questions are tinyor super far away. You can just walk upto a geologic puzzle and hit it with a hammer.

Small? The Appalachians today are the resting skeleton of a mountain range so tall and enduring that the mud and sand that washed off them piled miles high and formed the Catskill mountains. The Appalachians were so mighty that their garbage formed mountains

The entire exeption, and the broader exclusionary rule, is based around the self-evidently incorrect assumption that what happens in court will effect behaviour of investigators.

Thats true. And then America stopped. And then the people who had actual on-the-ground experiance died of old age. Its really another effect of the slow tragedy that is the auto industry

Thats quite true, but also political blockage prevents the projects from starting. With California high speed rail, the project is going. And we have found that, in addition to political stumbling blocks, California simply lacks access to the knowledge to build this, and must build that up. Its not 'instead of politics', its 'in addition to'.

This is misleadingly reductionist. California high speed rail has made consistant progess in that time. That progress has been slower than ourslowest expectations. It demonstrates the void of expertise the US has in rail megaprojects. However, that expertise is being built, slowly and painfully. Its still forward progress for a nation which tore up half its rail overthe last 50 years.

Vim can have some IDE-like qualities, if you bolt enough plugins in to it, but by default it affords buttinx text in a file and manipulating it.

I woudn't classify it as an ide though.

I like to keep up with fresh content and new stuff, so I usually sort by new, top hour, or top 6 hour. The latter is usually good, but if course limiting. I find the the first two, however, are dominated by posts from lemmit.online. For those unfamiliar, this is an instance used by the lemmit bot to repost content from reddit. While some of the content is interesting, a large chunk of it is discussion posts where the op is on a different network entirely, such as aita or programming help requests.

I don't find these posts to be very... Quality. If it were a possibility, I would block this instance entirely. How do others feel about it? Am I taking too strong a stance? Is this content a positive contribution?
