I played a lot of FreeCiv and had a lot of fun with it. Not sure if it's still dev/maintained

They do, but it's a very small part of their total financing (less than 1% I think), and they don't have government appointed staff or anything like that.

Are you trying the original or Enhanced Edition? I've had no issues playing the EE versions of Infinity Engine games on Ubuntu

I've only owned one Radiohead Album and it was this one. It pretty much stayed in my car's cassette player for a year!

This 100%. The only games I've managed to finish in the past ten years are on Switch or a portable system.

I like the old one AND I like the new one. I will like all cartoon bee variations provided. Half the reason I joined this instance was for the bee pun.

I don't watch a lot of anime, but how about the original Evangellion? My understanding is that the last few episodes were deeply confusing and disliked when they came out, to the point that the movies were created partly to "fix" the ending.

Spirited Away

Circa 2002, I had refused to give anime a chance because it looked like kid junk to me. Spirited Away singlr-handedly convinced me I was wrong.

A good baby carry (Ergo, Tula, maitai, etc) are worth their weight in gold. You can carry a baby, handle naps, and go about your life with your hands again.

Also, don't dismiss cloth diapers. I was hesitant to go down this road, but they were surprisingly easy to use and saved money overall (not to mention the amount of diapers we saved from a landfill). The shells on many brand can actually double as swim diapers too.

You beat the materia keeper without using materia!?

I loved Ogre Battle 64. To date, I can't remember playing anything else quite like it.

I've played a lot of Wingspan and Agricola, and I think both work better as 2 or 3 player. I feel like most medium-heavy games where you have to wait for your turn are going to be better with 2-3 players so they don't get too slow. I love Wingspan, but I played my first 4-player game last week and it was honestly a bit painful.

From 3rd grade(ish) up through senior year of high school, I was fairly into music. I was in both band and orchestra, and played numerous instruments as well as piano. I was never really great, but was proficient enough and played in a few community orchestras as well for fun. When I went off the college, I kind of dropped it and haven't touched an instrument in a long time.

By chance recently, I acquired a free upright piano. I thought it would be nice to have around for the kids (since fooling around on a piano is what got me into music myself when I was young). Side note: this plan is somewhat succeeding.

Anyway, it's pretty apparent to me that I literally forgot everything I knew. I used to know a few pieces from memory, but that's just like gone from my brain. I tried pulling out my viola, but my hands don't seem to remember where they go to the point that I probably need finger tape again.

Has anyone else come back to music after not playing for a long time? Any tips?

I'm working my way through EO1 with a LTM/AA party. Just snuck past the wyren in the 2nd stratum. I've played these games before when they first came out, but really enjoying them more now.

The QoL stuff that has been added (speeding up animations, a sensible skill tree display, and having the bestiary available in combat) make big differences to me. The later has made a party focused on elemental attacks more enjoyable.

The mapping as been surprisingly not painful. It was definitely more enjoyable on the DS, but it isn't terrible on switch (even docked).

I'm really hoping this is a sign that the series may one day get a new entry (or a spiritual successor).
