I spent last night watching LSV on twitch, drafting the LOTR set. The set itself looks like a really fun limited format with lots of synergy. The Food deck and the Draw 2 Cards deck seemed powerful (at least when drafted by a master.) The only downside was The Ring Tempts You mechanic which seemed to make little sense flavour-wise, and didn't really do all that much anyway. There is a more important fundamental failing though, and that is that the mechanics of Magic: the Gathering do not really fit in with the story of The Lord of The Rings at all. The original ICE TCG captured the feeling of the book in a way that Magic can never do. #magicthegathering #mtg #mtgltr #lotr
