This is great thank you, I started following spacex Reddit in the echologic (was that his name?) Days, but the sub got a bit, I dunno, it started to lack a certain something. Just got too big maybe.

I'm happy to see this here! Thanks for starting it, sorry for the off topic ๐Ÿ˜‚

Just saw this group appear!! I have 4 young kids and my house is pretty small, and I need some help!

  • Should I keep the original boxes, at the moment I do but they are just empty and taking up space
  • I am trying to keep all the instructions in a folder.... But
  • either the sets (mostly either Harry potter (so expensive) or Lego friends (very cute) stay built or my youngest destroys them...

But then they all end up in the "Lego box" which is one of them yellow Lego container boxes with the 8 studs.

It feels very much like it's kinda, make the thing on the box once, maybe play with it a bit, then it breaks and the parts arent looked at again.

I guess what I'm asking is with limited space, what's the best way to make the Lego I already have, more accessible to the kids so I can take out the big floor plate and "just build" (cause buying new sets all the time is getting too expensive)

Thanks!!!

For me, personally, the advantage is I don't have to set up all the custom searches myself, there are a lot of them, and you can guess most!

I know what you mean. I still use it all the same as my default search, the reason is the bang (!) Operators.

So if the ddg normal search isn't working, I can add a !g and I get the Google version. Or if I want Google maps... Then I just add !gm

The other one I use a lot is wolfram alpha for unit conversions and calculations, just add a !wa

Hacker news search is !HN

Having this one stop shop for many different search types end up being way better than Google, even if somethimes the regular search may not be so great

I was thinking to combat spam, either the federation could use an instance block, or the user could have a block all from instance option

Am I right in seeing the leg, torso and joint position ls are in the wrong place? Uncanny valley style. I saw an MJ one yesterday and it looked like the leg didn't connect to the hip.

Maybe I'm just seeing it because I know it's midjourney

Ohh just noticed the shadow in the background, that's awsome

Ahhh I was wondering what that was for, thank you

I'm sure 90% of the time normal people don't know why they do things at the best of times, and if you ask them why they will make something up retrospectively.

I think a community needs to add the option of a topic hashtag, so communities can group together in that way if they want to, and people can subscribe to these hashtags if they want to (with the ability to remove single instances of they want to)

The theme here is "if they want to" giving choice to both the communities and the subscribers

You will all hate me but... Snaps! First time I could easily roll back a bad version of thunderbird (I use it for work -office 365) which got stuck in a oauth2 login loop. I had to roll back twice (again, single command, everything just worked) then finally an upgrade where the bug was fixed.

Don't get me wrong I've pinned versions before with apt etc, but I always end up forgetting and having to remove them afterwards.

And... The only reason I was using the thunderbird snap was cause the regular apt thunderbird had some other annoying bug.

Yep.... Snaps... (Shake my head and walk away)

Yesssss it worked!

So you can follow people on lemmy and have it show up in your mastodon freed. That's pretty cool. I can't seem to make it work the other way yet but I'm sure at some point...

I think I can,I put my profile URL into the search on Mastodon, and now I'm gonna post and see what happens..... Then I'm gonna sub to my mastdon account on lemmy. Either it's doing to form a mobius loop or I dunno what. But if something goes down well, it wasn't me. Also will this make hastags work? #lemmy

Never realised this was the inspiration for the Scone of stone, in Thud by Terry Pratchett. He pulls so much history into his books it's epic. I'm still learning years after my first reading of it!

I'm pretty sure even if you drop the membership you get to keep access to the books, but considering the amount of money I spent on them over the years I would really rather make sure. Anyone got the best option for saving you catalogue DRM free and offline?

Thanks!
