I've actually been really happy with my experience on Lemmy so far, all things considered. I don't think I even miss Reddit that much, though I can't speak for others.

Yeah definitely not a fan of that either. Sure hope they remove it in a future version.
Infinity was an excellent app. Was customizable enough for my needs and didn't intrude on my experience with ads or other stuff. Sad to see it go. I will probably just stop using it and just use Lemmy from now on.
I wish I could start using Matrix for personal communication, but the fact that every friend and family member I have are already on Discord and the fact that Matrix has non-trivial technical hurdles immediately kills any possibility of using Matrix.
I think at this point, I only use Matrix to engage in a few community chats from time to time.
I have the Kinesis Freestyle Edge keyboard and so far I love it. The split definitely helps in allowing my shoulders to be more relaxed. And I feel like the tilt definitely helps as well, though I wouldnt set the tilt to be too high, as it may cause issues with typing.

Now if only we can also improve battery and energy transportation technology in the next 5 years...
I personally use the Dark Reader extension (available on Firefox and Chrome) to automatically convert sites to dark mode. That way I don't have to depend on the site creators to manually create a dark mode switch.
Yeah I feel like this is where federation shines: different instances are allowed to do different things and users don't have to miss out on anything.
I primarily use ChatGPT to ask about how to use X, Y, Z software libraries together, and other general programming questions. Unfortunately, the project that I work on is proprietary, so I'm not allowed to just feed ChatGPT my code and tell it to correct/refactor it. But that's fine, because ChatGPT still provides a lot of value to me for free.
If given a choice between Mastodon (with all its flaws) and anything by Meta, I would always choose Mastodon.
Yeah I think this would make the most sense, unless Reddit takes down these stickied posts.
