These are pre-generated labels that can be set up after printing. I provide them for free to download here. If you are in the EU you can also buy them printed on a sheet of adhesive paper.

I use noteqr.de. Those are pre-printed qr codes, you just scan them and add content afterwards.

also try thunar, it does this and when you start typing it does not start a search (which would freeze the entire app for me) but jumps to the first file with that starting letter. Nautilus is just ... special.
