Tiff had the excellent idea of just hotlinking to the image directly and posting the tweet url in the body. Works perfectly for me now.

Nitter unfortunately does not work right now due to this change. Hopefully they will fix this somehow (probably by changing user agent to googlebot, because they still allow web crawlers)

Bummer ~ The link worked when I posted it, but now it does not anymore, even when I insert another Nitter instance. I chose Nitter because Twitter links do not appear to get a thumbnail and preview on Lemmy - at least last time I checked. The preview and thumbnail still work for me though luckily.
