I was kind of mystified by its appeal too, all that tiny text, the pointless tree...

Yeah I've been finding this hard, too. Best method for me has been to browse the communities other people follow, and use Mastodon to search using hashtags - both methods have led me to new communities, but it's not been easy.
People point to https://browse.feddit.de/ but I've not found it to be that useful.
I don't have much sympathy for the father who took his 19yo son down with him. Fine to risk your own life, but what kind of minimal research did he do before putting his kid at risk? I'd be furious if my brother did that to his son.
I love that they're frogs, and those little sai daggers look awesome
I struggle with open ended projects, so I try to choose things with a clear outcome e.g. give me some PC hardware to play with, I'll tinker and get bored after a few hours, but if I plan to build a media centre (or whatever) that I'll put into use, then I'll commit weeks to researching and building a nice little box.
Same at work, I try to set myself achievable short term goals, so I get a regular sense of progression and value. To be fair, I don't have big problems focusing, but I'm easily distracted when bored or directionless.
I really enjoyed it, it's not a challenge, more an interactive story with amazing visuals
Haha, oh. I can't remember if you're literally in someone's mind, but it's a psychedelic guitar fantasy. It's a very pretty game.
Last credits I saw was Mass Effect 1 (legendary edition on gamepass), last 100%ed was Psychonauts 2 - both last month(ish)

Shame the instances list doesn't include reason for blocking. Looking at the names most seem obvious (and I don't feel like I'm missing out on those) but there must be some grey areas.
I've been trying to contribute here more than I did on Reddit, and honestly I'm amazed how smooth it's been.
Lots of small UI frustrations, but I can already see the pull requests lining up, so I'm happy to wait.
Not utterly disappointed, but certainly underwhelmed by Wingspan to begin with. Oceania + removing ravens fixed a lot - mostly around difficulty playing birds, overpowered birds, boring endgame egg-laying.
Had a similar thing with Viticulture, it just felt unfinished. Tuscany fixed that too. Turns out I'm a sucker for expansions.
