That's what a try/catch is for!

Ah, a fellow academic I see

I mean, at most he was in the hospital for about 6 months. At most. Nobody's keeping you there without going home longer than that unless you're in a coma.

So he's either 77, or 78, but I can easily see this happening. I've seen 60+ year olds in construction pretty much daily.

What if you recommended a smaller instance and they get hugged to death and it ruins the experience for everyone else on that instance?

Though, to be fair, world is already pretty hammered

A lot of people start off on a major instance, then after finding and vibing with another instance, can move to that.

There's tons of tools and things that allow for transfer of subscriptions and everything else so changing instances isn't a big deal.

The important thing is to get them on Lemmy first.

There's a lot more liberals there than you'd think, but they assume they're outnumbered by conservatives.

They're wrong, but that's how voter suppression works

It's this because he just learned jupiter is throwing asteroids at earth and he thinks Tariffs are going to put a halt to unstable lunar orbits?

Ah, who am I kidding. He doesn't learn things.

By building a second casino down the street so they would compete with each other and both end in bankruptcy.

What are you talking about? Trump is isolating us from the rest of the world day by day.

We're rapidly approaching the level of Russia, as considered on the world stage. Nothing about what is happening is a good thing. Nothing.

They should fingerprint you. Same as when you get a TSA precheck or global entry thing. There's a meeting they have to do, in a passports case, usually at the post office, where they take your fingerprints as a part of the biometrics.

It's pretty universal for holding a passport in most countries IIRC.

It's possible that never happened, but they took my fingerprints both with a passport, my Global Entry, and a DOJ/FBI background check (this one I know takes your fingerprints for sure, had to get a few of these done for work related reasons).

Couldn't he just make up whatever number he wants here? It's all just funny money. I seriously doubt $45billion changed any hands anywhere.
